African Burial Ground Town Hall Meeting, this Sunday at 4!

The Sacred Ground Historical Reclamation Project and the Defenders for Freedom, Justice, and Equality are bringing you a town hall meeting about the struggle to reclaim Richmond’s African Burial Ground, located under cars and asphalt at 15th and Broad Street.

The Town Hall meeting will take place 4-6pm, at the East District Family Resource Center, 2405 Jefferson Ave in Church Hill. The meeting is timed to correspond with the 210th anniversary of the death of Gabriel, a slave who led a rebellion just outside of Richmond. Gabriel and many of his fellow insurrectionists were hung at 15th and Broad on October 10.

Please spread the word about this, and try to make it if you can! Demand that VCU remove its hold over the graves of people who helped build this city, with only shackles to show for it.
